A Samagi Jana Balawegaya government elected by the people will bring about an era that safeguards the rights of all the 22 million people, said its leader Sajith Premadasa.
Educational, health, economic, sociocultural and religious rights will be included in the constitution as basis human rights, he said.
At present, only civil and political rights are described as fundamental rights, said the opposition leader.
He was speaking after donating a modern bus worth Rs. five million to Victoria College in Vadukkodai in Jaffna.
