URF leader Patali Champika Ranawaka has refuted reports that he was planning to ally with Basil Rajapaksa’s SLPP.
Answering a question posed by a journalist, Ranawaka said he would not even talk to the Rajapaksas or those behind the country’s bankruptcy.
He said all excepting the Rajapaksas were invited to have discussions on the URF’s nation-building blueprint launched on February 14.
The NPP refused to take part in the talks, he said further.
Ranawaka said a political alliance being formed by them will be governed by a leadership council.
A majority decision by that council on a presidential candidate will be accepted, he said, adding that he was prepared to contest if he was chosen.
