A meeting between a group of local and foreign economic experts and representatives of the National People’s Power took place at the JVP head office yesterday (10) afternoon.
Argentina’s former Minister of Economy and Columbia University Professor Martin Guzman, Massachusetts University Professor Jayathi Ghosh, United Nations Millennium Project’s former Regional Director Charles Abugre, Senior Lecturer of Jaffna University Dr. Ahilan Kadirgamar and several others were present.
National Executive Members Dr Harini Amarasuriya, Dr Nalinda Jayathissa, Professor Anil Jayantha, Dr Anura Karunathilaka, Dr Harshana Suriyapperuma, Lawyer Lakmali Hemachandra, Chaturanga Abeysinghe, Engineer Eranga Weeraratne, Professor Upali Pannilage and Chartered Accountant Sunil Gamage represented the NPP.
The economic crisis that Sri Lanka is confronted with, the international financial interventions and the government’s economic measures were discussed at length.
