A DP Silicon Valley IT office was opened yesterday (09) at the historic Hathagala Purana Vihara as part of efforts to create one million jobs in the IT sector.
DP Education founder Dhammika Perera set up the facility under the guidance of deputy director at ministry of education Ven. Pallegama Vangeesa Thera, who is also the chief incumbent of the temple.
Speaking at its opening, Perera expressed happiness over the facility’s location at a significant place where even King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe had received his education.
Speaking further, he noted that a majority of the students who excelled at the GCE advanced level examination this year were from the outstations and were also students of DP Education programme.
