Sri Lankan president Ranil Wickremesinghe and Indian prime minister Narendra Modi have pledged to take the bilateral ties forward stronger.
Wickremesinghe and leaders of other neighbouring countries congratulated Modi upon his swearing-in for a third term.
Nearly 9,000 invitees were in attendance as Modi took his oaths before president Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan yesterday.
Following that, Modi hosted the heads of state at a gala dinner.
Also present were Bangladesh premier Sheikh Hasina, Nepal’s PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Maldivian president Mohamed Muizzu and other regional leaders.
They posed for a group photograph following the swearing-in ceremony.
