SJB MP S.M. Marikkar says he wants to see at least 100 children gain university admission each year from his Kolonnawa electorate.
He was speaking at the handover of a smart classroom to Rajasinghe National School at Kotikawatte.
On the occasion, he also asked the zonal education director to stop stepmotherly treatment being meted out for Kolonnawa.
Marikkar said four more schools in the area would be developed as national schools to ensure advanced education for children.
He also revealed plans to built a fully-equipped school similar in facilities to D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo.
It will come up at the land where the Meethotamulla bus depot is located at present, he added.
