A remembrance has taken place for nine unarmed Tamil civilians murdered by Indian peacekeepers in Jaffna 35 years ago.
Relatives gathered at Vadaravattai in Puttur on 06 June and made floral and other tributes to the photographs of the victims.
According to eyewitnesses, the nine men were taken by the IPKP to near a Kovil and burnt on 05 June 1989.
That was part of a retaliation for a fatal attack on the peacekeepers by the LTTE.
