Three opposition MPs presently touring Myanmar have held talks with deputy foreign minister H.E.U. Than Swe in an attempt to rescue 49 Sri Lankan youths taken by computer criminals.

The discussion took place at Nay Pyi Taw, 500 kms from Rangoon.

MPs Wasantha Yapa Bandara, J.C. Alawathuwala and Sujith Sanjaya Perera handed over a letter from opposition leader Sajith Premadasa to the deputy
minister.

Thereafter, they called on Ven. Thanlyin Min Kyaung Sayardaw Thera at Shwe Dagon Pagoda in Rangoon.

The Thera was handed over a letter signed by Mahanayake Theras of the three Buddhist chapters in Sri Lanka on behalf of the Sri Lankan hostages.
