The Navy has been thwarted from taking over a private land to expand one of its camps at Kattupulam in Jaffna.
When a Survey Department team arrived yesterday (30), Tamil people and politicians objected to surveying the land.
ITAK MP S. Sritharan telephoned the top department official in the area and registered their protest.
Upon the official’s instructions, the team left with a letter of protest handed over by TNPF’s Kaganaratnam Sugash.
