A United National Party-led alliance will be launched in June to field incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe as the presidential candidate.
Several parties, civil society organizations and members of certain parties are expected to join this alliance.
Talks are also underway to obtain support from several MPs from the Sri Lanka Podujana Pereamuna and Samagi Jana Balawegaya.
