Fifteen years into the end of the war, around 300 families, mostly Sinhalese, still live as refugees at Mottuarama village in Kokilai, Mullaitivu, reports BBC Sinhala Service.

This fishing hamlet first came to be inhabited in the 1930.

During the war, the villages had to briefly flee their homes.

Despite several generations living at Mottuvarama, the present occupants are yet to receive a license at least for their land.

A filling station built to supply kerosene oil is yet to be opened either.

No politicians are looking into even basic facilities of this village, people allege.
