Sri Lanka should adopt a friendly approach in the face of international disputes, including Palestine, said United Republican Front (URF) leader Patali Champika Ranawaka.
Speaking in parliament yesterday (14), he said with its strategic location in the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka should rise up democratically for justice.
Referring to the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, he said an immediate ceasefire is needed with or without international mediation for the sake of the suffering civilians.
Further, an uninterrupted supply of food, medicines and other essentials is needed for the area.
Also, both should release the thousands held captive, he said.
