Professor Nalin de Silva, a prominent academic, has passed away at the age of 79.
He was a well-known thinker and political critic.
Prof. de Silva was an ex-ambassador to Myanmar and a former professor in the department of mathematics.
He also served in the University Grants Commission and as dean of the faculty of science at the University of Kelaniya.
