The winner at the next presidential election will be the candidate who has the blessings of the SLPP, said the party’s leader Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Addressing the SLPP May Day rally at Campbell Park, Borella, he urged the people to rally with the party with the winning candidate to go on a winning journey.
The decision about the candidate would be made known to the country at the right time, he said.
Rajapaksa went onto say the SLPP showed its strength at the May Day rally with people converging at Campbell Park to show that it becomes stronger amid challenges.
