MP C.V. Vigneswaran has advised Sinhala leaders to read a newly-launched publication and understand how Tamils in Sri Lanka became marginalized.
Vigneswaran was the chief guest at the launch of ‘Structural Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing of Tamils in Sri Lanka’ written by former president of Velvettiturai citizen’s committee Selvendra Sabaratnam.
It took place at the TPO office in Nallur on 20 April.
The book, written in English, will soon be translated to both Sinhala and Tamil, said Vigneswaran.
The writer told the gathering that he attempted, through the book, to safeguard the rights of his community.
Prof. K.R. Ganesalingam of Jaffna University said the book had 10 chapters describing how Tamils became victims of genocide.
