Colombo Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith says he is working with several countries and organizations to submit a proposal to the UN Human Rights Commission that calls for an international investigation to ensure justice for victims of the Easter Sunday attacks.
Speaking to BBC Sinhala Service on the fifth anniversary of the terror attacks, the cardinal said the government has not yet been able to uncover masterminds and conspirators behind the attacks.
He said that although Gotabaya Rajapaksa breached his verbal promise for justice, he had some faith in the written undertakings given by the SJB and the NPP.
He added that he did not expect justice under Ranil Wickremesinghe as the president, Deshabandu Tennakoon as the IGP and Nilantha Jayawardena as his second in command.
