The SLPP will definitely have its ‘flower-bud’ symbol included in the ballot paper at the presidential polls, leaving alone the name of his own, said its national organize Namal Rajapaksa.
Incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe could be among the party’s contenders for the presidential race, he said.
He was speaking after calling on Mahanayake of Malwatte Chapter, Ven. Tibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera in Kandy.
According to Rajapaksa, the SLPP is having a good competition internally to select a candidate, with the hopefuls including entrepreneurs and media owners.
Meanwhile, SLPP senior Rohitha Abeygunawardena said party leader Mahinda Rajapaksa will decide their presidential candidate.
Rajapaksa was given that responsibility at the politburo meeting on 09 April, said the MP.
