URF leader Patali Champika Ranawaka says he is ready to contest for the presidency under an alliance presently under formation.
Ranawaka said he would get involved in the proposed alliance to resolve national crises and to rebuild the country.
Towards that, he launched a set of proposals on 14 March.
If that alliance requests him to contest, he is prepared to take up the challenge at a presidential election, Ranawaka told a public meeting in Homagama on 27 March.
He added that he was even prepared to support, if that alliance fields someone else.
