The SLPP has set up two new panels to resolve disciplinary and other internal issues.

Meeting at ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa’s official home on 27 March, the party’s executive committee appointed the two panels.

The one that deals with disciplinary issues comprises seven lawyers, including Chamari Perera, the widow of the late state minister Sanath Nishantha.

Headed by president’s counsel Razik Zarook and W. Dayaratne, its other members are Thushari Suriyarachchi, Athula de Silva, Manjula Wellalage and Sarath Athukorale.

The arbitration panel on internal issues consists of Chamal Rajapaksa, Johnston Fernando, S.B. Dissanayake, C.B. Ratnayake, Rohitha Abeygunawardena and Manjula Dissanayake.
