Several SLFP organizers were present at the launch of Humane People’s Alliance by MP Dayasiri Jayasekara despite the party having informed all its organizers not to attend the event.
Chief of staff of the SLFP Miyuru Bhashitha Liyanage had sent out the notification to party organizers.
The March 20 event at Lakshman Kadirgamar Centre saw the launch of the alliance in collaboration with 20 minority parties.
Also present on the occasion were SJB’s Ranjith Madduma Bandara, NFF leader Wimal Weerawansa, PHU leader Udaya Gammanpila and deputy leader of the TPA Palani Digambaram.
Addressing the event, Jayasekara declared that they would support a presidential candidate who agrees to their principles.
