Two police units, SIU and the TID, are investigating 19 of its senior officers who are accused of having links with notorious drug dealer Nandun Chinthaka alias ‘Harak Kata’.
They include an SSP, ASP and a retired high-ranking officer.
It has been alleged that the criminal had given various gratifications to CID and other police officers.
After they were exposed, some of the accused have been given transfers.
Also, several others are in remand custody facing allegations that they had aided him in his failed attempt to flee from the CID custody.
