The Election Commission has consented to a proposal by the youth wing of Patali Champika Ranawaka’s URF relating to issues of private sector employees when voting.
Representatives of the Youth Republic met the commission’s chairman on 05 February and submitted the proposal.
Accordingly, the commission has found the proposal to grant no-pay leave and other facilities for them to be appropriate.
It sent a letter in this regard to the Labour Department on 06 March.
Youth Republic said it would meet the labour commissioner and all political parties to discuss it.
