The country has no use of the uncreative leaders who pawn everything in the country for mere survival, said entrepreneur Dilith Jayaweera.

Jayaweera, who is also the leader of the Mawbima Janatha Party, made these remarks addressing the party's Matara district meeting yesterday (10).

The government created by a group of empty people is imposing taxes even on children’s compass boxes in order to obtain the next instalment of the IMF bailout loan, he said.

“We should unite not to continue with habit, but think and act new without harming the feelings of other communities or religions,” said Jayaweera.

The practice of division every time an election nears should not be permitted this time, he added.

CPSL MP Weerasumana Weerasinghe, MJP chairman Dr. Sarath Amunugama and senior leader Hemakumara Nanayakkara also spoke.
