Cabinet minister Harin Fernando has expressed his belief that the country would have a newly-elected president by 14 October.
Speaking to the media in Dambulla on 05 February, he said his expectation was that the election would take place in the first week of October.
He also assured that incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe would be a certain candidate at the election.
