President Ranil Wickremesinghe has sent a strongly-worded letter to the Constitutional Council with regard to his recommendation to appoint a new Supreme Court judge.
The CC is yet to respond to his request that Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne, presently chairman of court of appeal, be made a SC judge.
The CC should essentially take a decision with regard to his recommendation, said the president in his letter.
Its indecision has seriously disrupted judicial activities and prevented the enforcement of the law of the country, he added.
