Presently on tour in the north, president Ranil Wickremesinghe met with representatives of the Jaffna Civil Community Center yesterday (06).
Participants agreed to support the president in any decision that will be taken on behalf of the country.
President of the Jaffna Civil Community Center Arun Siddharth later posted a message on facebook about the meeting.
He said a special meeting between president Ranil Wickremesinghe and representatives of 17 organizations representing the Jaffna Civil Community was held at Jaffna Jet Wing Hotel.
The discussion lasted about an hour.
Participants pointed out to the president with evidence the caste suppression that has been suppressing the public in the north for centuries.
We have submitted to the president a file of evidence regarding the deadly caste oppression in the North, said Siddharth.
The president responded by saying that he would develop 100 schools where caste-oppressed children receive their education.
