The Central Environment Authority plans to strictly regulate the playing of loud music by passenger buses to prevent sound pollution.
It will be carried out in coordination with the Environment Ministry, said its director general Hemantha Jayasinghe.
Traffic police is authorized to take action against errant buses, he added.
