The Yala National Park will be closed from today (21) for a one-week period, its Safari jeep drivers have been informed.
With an official notification yet to come, these drivers, tour guides and hoteliers are in severe difficulties.
Thousands of tourists are now in the area hoping to visit the national park.
Reportedly, the reason for the closure is to renovate its internal roads following heavy rains.
