The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) is holding its national convention at Sugathadasa indoor stadium in Colombo today (15), starting at 2.00 pm.
Its leader Mahinda Rajapaksa, founder Basil Rajapaksa and other leaders are due to attend.
SLPP MP Sanjeewa Edirimanne said the convention will deal mainly with strengthening the party to face a year of elections in 2024.
Contrary to speculation, no changes are likely to be effected to the party’s key positions.
