The Mawbima Janatha Party will introduce a well-planned programme that cannot be rejected by the people who love the Sri Lankan culture and identity, said its leader Dilith Jayaweera.
Addressing a party meeting in Kalutara, he promised not to allow a repeat of the past mistakes in politics.
Jayaweera said he had supported and actively involved with various parties and persons with the belief that politics would take to the correct path for the country’s development.
Unfortunately, everybody knows what happened in the end, he said, adding that he had never intended to enter politics.
With his entry unexpected by all, there are various criticisms about his party now, he said.
Jayaweera said he would never betray his principles.
With an unrelenting belief that the country needs a new political model, he said, the party would wipe out all myths and unpleasant stories from the political stage.
He called for a positive dialogue on creating an entrepreneurial state.
