Ten leading businessmen have defaulted loan repayments to the tune of Rs. 80 billion to two state banks, said secretary of the Ceylon Bank Employees Union Ranjan Senanayake.
Addressing a function in Colombo on 02 December, he said they owe Rs. 50 billion to the Bank of Ceylon and a further Rs. 30 billon to the People’s Bank.
Parliament should expose these loan defaulters who are protected by politicians, or else we would do so, he said.
