MP Gamini Lokuge has dared opposition leader Sajith Premadasa to submit proof of all his educational qualifications to parliament.
Lokuge posed the challenge yesterday (01), saying that Premadasa claims to be the only educated person “among a pack of fools in the House.”
He said the other MPs in parliament elected by the people were more educated than the opposition leader’s father, who had become the country’s president.
Silencing at highest place of lawmaking
Meanwhile, Premadasa said a silencing of those who pose intelligent questions and make proposals was taking place at the country’s highest place of lawmaking.
Speaking at a function at Rahula Vidyalaya in Mulleriyawa, he said he never raised personal matters in parliament, but always spoke about the economic and other issues of the people.
However, he has been branded as one who utter irrelevancies, said the opposition leader.
Those who are responsible for the country’s bankruptcy could not stomach it when he proposes solutions to national issues, Premadasa added.
