Deshabandu Tennakoon’s appointment by the president as the acting police chief has been sent to the Constitutional Council, which is to meet and take a decision.
His appointment for a three-month duration came after C.D. Wickramaratne retired as the IGP on 24 November, after having served four service extensions.
