The Public Security Ministry has decided to beef up the security of sports minister Roshan Ranasinghe and Appeal court judge Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne.
It comes in the wake of Ranasinghe lodging a complaint with the CID yesterday (15) that he was under threat from a former advisor of his and a top official of the Presidential Secretariat.
The IGP has taken steps to raise his MSD personnel by three, to 10.
Judge Karunaratne’s security has been strengthened as well, after he was criticized by the sports minister and the opposition leader for issuing an injunction against the interim committee for cricket.
Thereafter, he recused from the hearing.
