The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested one of the two policemen who had allegedly aided the criminal Nadun Chinthaka alias ‘Harak Kata’ in his failed attempt to flee from custody.
He is a constable attached to the public complaints division.
The PC who is directly involved in the criminal’s escape bid has been in hiding for 20 days now.
In the meantime, the CCD is detaining four underworld figures for 90-days under the PTA on charges of aiding Chinthaka similarly.
They are said to be accomplices of drug trafficker ‘Midigama Ruwan’, who is exiled in Dubai.
