The leader of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Maithripala Sirisena and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) breakaway faction led by Nimal Lanza have had a secret meeting recently, reports ‘Deshaya’ newspaper.
Lanza as well as Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Susil Premjayanth, Mahinda Amaraweera, Lasantha Alagiyawanne, Priyankara Jayaratne and Nalin Fernando participated.
Working together in the future came under discussion, with the SLFP hinting at changing top office-bearers opposed to it.
Yapa and John Seneviratne are due to represent the Lanza faction at the SLFP’s 72nd anniversary celebrations today (03).
