The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has invited former president Chandrika Kumaratunga to its anniversary celebration, but not her successor Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The 72nd year of the party will be marked at an event at Monarch Imperial Hotel in Sri Jayewardenepura today (03).
SLFP chairman Maithripala Sirisena said the SLPP, led by Rajapaksa, has now divided into 10 factions.
That is evident also from what is happening in parliament, he said.
A poster campaign to announce the party anniversary has been covered by a poster by another party, Sirisena added.
