Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa said the president’s feedback to their proposals with regard to the 13th amendment at the recent

all-party conference will be considered with honest intentions and responded to appropriately.

Those were made in response to the opposition’s proposals handed over to the government at the APC.

Speaking in parliament yesterday (09), Premadasa urged the government to let go of its election-phobia and hold local government polls without any further delay.

Once fresh LG bodies are in place, the issue of the 13A could be discussed at length, he said.

The opposition leader also asked the president to refrain from acts that repress the people, including state-sponsored terrorism.

The SJB will agree to anything positive for the people, he stressed.

He refuted media reports about a plan to withdraw the no-confidence motion against the health minister, and said a debate of three-days was required on the motion.
