The judiciary has a right to express opinion with regard to fundamental rights if a citizen seeks redress
over double-standards in domestic debt restructuring by treating the working people and the super-rich differently, said opposition leader Sajith Premadasa.
Such a ruling by court cannot be challenged in parliament, he told the House today (09).
Under a democratic rule, a court can express its opinion when citizens challenge any violations of their FR on equality guaranteed by paragraph 3 of the constitution, he said.
