Patients in hospital waiting-lists die without having medicines, while those who swindled money from medicines
go to Singapore for their treatments, said SJB MP Eran Wickramaratne.
Speaking to the media in Colombo yesterday (06), he said the health service was in a sorry plight under the present government.
The issues created by the Rajapaksas are dragging on and worsening with professionals leaving the country and swindling from medical supplies.
Those swindlers seek their treatments at Mt. Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, he noted.
With everything in short-supply and services restricted, other patients in waiting lists are risking their lives when the young ones are given priority, said Wickremaratne.
Those over 60 years of age are relegated, which shows the sad condition of the health service, he added.
