Academic activities of many faculties in Peradeniya University remain disrupted due to the brain drain of many of its experienced teachers, said university sources.
From January 2022 to May 2023, more than 70 had left the country.
Vice chancellor Prof. Terrance Madujith `admitted the situation, saying the medical, engineering, science and dental faculties were the worst affected.
Seventy professors and lecturers had left the service, while many others are overseas on study leave, he said.
