The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) will decide tomorrow (26) if it will attend the all-party conference called by the president on the same day, said its MP Tissa Attanayake.

The National People's Front (NPP) has already declared that it would boycott the meeting.

According to the President’s Media Division, tomorrow’s meeting starting at 5.30 pm is aimed at briefing party leaders about the government’s reconciliation efforts.

Freedom People's Congress MP Prof. Charitha Herath played down the APC, calling the meeting as a playact by president Ranil Wickremesinghe to be ‘the good boy’ to prepare for the next presidential polls.

Herath said his personal stand was that the meeting should not be accepted by the opposition.

Before that, the government should declare its stand on the 13th amendment to the constitution, he said.

The government says one thing about devolving powers while doing the total opposite, the MP charged.

Pivithuru Hela Urumaya leader Udaya Gammanpila said he would attend the APC convened by the president to expose a government conspiracy to nullify the peace achieved with the sacrifices of many lives.
