Mullaitivu district court judge T. Pradeepan will decide today (20) whether further excavations are needed at a site said to be a mass grave at Kokku Thuduvai.
At a meeting chaired by him on 13 July, state officials agreed to follow international standards and obtain assistance of judicial medical officers in the proceedings.
Water supply workers stumbled upon the gravesite while laying pipes on 29 June.
Judicial, judicial medical and police officials, lawyers, Tamil politicians and relatives of missing persons attended the discussion.
