The leader of the National People's Power (NPP) Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that healing the wounded society should be given foremost consideration.

The need is a country in which Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims live in peace without enmity, hatred or suspicion, he said.

Cultural identities of each community should be respected with brotherhood, Dissanayake told a party meeting in Wattala yesterday (10).

He accused successive governments of having destroyed human values and relations to a level from which social revival has become a difficulty.

The main factor towards healing the society is establishing the rule of law, which will be done by the NPP, he assured.

Dissanayake called upon all citizens to come forward to join hands with the party to achieve that objective.
