A former chairman of the State Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Corporation, Dr. Sayuru Samarasundera, was seriously injured in an attack near his home at Hokandara around 9.00 pm yesterday (26).
A group including a relative of sports minister Roshan Ranasinghe has reportedly carried out the attack.
It was over a dispute about a vehicle that was parked blocking the house of the ex-SPMC chairman at Eden Garden housing complex.
Dr. Samarasundara suffered injuries to his head and he had been bleeding profusely when admitted to hospital, reports said.
No arrests have been made so far.
Minister Ranasinghe is presently overseas.
