The court of appeal has quashed the summons issued by the Colombo Fort magistrate’s court on senior DIG in charge of the western province Deshabandu Thennakoon to appear before courts as a suspect in connection with the finding of Rs. 17.8 million in cash from President’s House when protestors stormed the building in June last year.
A bench comprising justices Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne and A. Marikkar issued the order today (26).
The court of appeal also issued a writ order invalidating a letter issued by the attorney general to name Tennakoon as a suspect in the attack on ‘gotagogama’ on May 09.
