Struggles by the Tamils to win their rights cannot be repressed by unlawful arrests, said the TNPF.
Its spokesman Kanagaratnam Sugash stressed the point while talking to the media yesterday (14) after a court hearing against 18 TNPF activists, including him and MP S. Gajendran.
They are on bail following their arrest over a protest they held against a visit by the president to Jaffna in February.
Jaffna magistrate A.A. Anandaraja fixed the next hearing for October 10.
