The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has demanded a final solution to the ethnic issue before July 30, failure of which will rule out any talks with the government again.

Its MP Shanakiyan Rasamanickam said the point was stressed at a meeting with president Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Presidential Secretariat recently.

For his part, the president promised to present solutions to the issues raised by the TNA.

Leader of the TNA R. Sampanthan and MP M.A. Sumanthiran noted any failure on the part of the government will force them to find their own solution under the right to self-determination.

Rasamanickam said the government has so far failed to address even the basic issues they have been raising for the past one year.
