The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has asked its MPs Rajitha Senaratne and Vadivel Suresh in writing to explain their violation of a party decision.
Both should clarify within one week as to their conduct with regard to a government resolution to remove Janaka Ratnayake as chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), said chief opposition whip Lakshman Kiriella.
Suresh voted in support of the resolution while Senaratne was absent at the vote, whereas the SJB had decided to oppose it.
SJB’s A.H.M. Fowize too, supported the resolution against the former PUCSL chief.
