Many religious and other events are taking place to mark the fourth anniversary of the Easter Sunday terror attacks today (21).

A series of bombings that targeted three catholic churches and three leading hotels on the morning of April 21, 2019 left 269 dead.

Forty six foreigners were among them.

Another 500 people carried lifelong injuries and sufferings.

In all, more than 400 families have at least one casualty, while close to 20 are confined to wheel-chairs.

The fight for justice for all these victims of terror continues today, with Colombo Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith leading from the front.

Morning prayers took place to remember the victims of the incident, said Fr. Jude Krishantha Fernando of the Catholic Church.

One of the churches targeted by the suicide bombers is St. Sebastian Church at Katuwapitiya, where a mass took place last night.

Participants later began a march to Kochchikade church in Colombo that was to culminate at around 8.00 am today.
